TILL SCAN SERVICES
Whilst a Good quality properly installed CCTV system can be a good deterrent for any would be thieve, it can sometimes be extremely hard to prove. For example if a staff member has in fact entered a transaction in to the till of if they have in fact only partially entered a transaction in to the till. With employment legislation and the need to have solid proof before proceeding to reprimand a staff member Till scan is a real affective tool to minimise the margin for error which can be quite costly to your business.
For the person who does not know how till scan works here I have put a small example

Types of Retail Fraud to Look Out For
Sweethearting:
In this situation this is where a staff member will be approached at the Till by a colleague, Friend or Family and will do one of two things they will either ring in the presented product as a cheaper product or will look for the purpose of the camera as if they are ringing the item in but will in fact not have rang anything in therefore giving your stock out for free.
NO SALE / VOIDS / ORs:
In this scenario the employee will instead of ringing in an item they will press the no sale button to open the cash drawer on the till, in some circumstances we have seen an employee use the no sale button in this manner and accumulate an amount of cash over the course of their shift and on nearing the end of there shift they will remove the accumulated amount.
We have also come across situations were an employee will ring an item in for the purpose of the customer at the till seeing the item come up on the screen however before cashing out they will void or error correct the sale therefore the read at the end of the night is less this sale and the employee is up on cash.
ORs or over regs are to be looked out for as these are presented to book keepers etc by employees and whilst in our experience they would only be for lesser amounts say €20 over the course of a week in reality this is in excess of €1000 annually.
